RURUBERRY Ethyl 5% Ascorbic Acid Review by Beauty_tribes

The reason I was keen to try this product

What interested me the most was because this product resembles that famous international skincare brand. I guess you all got what I mean. I’m actually very amazed that it is a local brand. And in fact, it is quite affordable. This Vitamin C serum is gently formulated and for this reason it is suitable for me, beginner.

About the Ingredients

Key Ingredients:

  • Vitamin C (3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid) [5%]
  • Vitamin E (Tocotrienols & Tocopherol)
  • 10 Skin Activating Extract (Tiger Grass, Chamomile, Aloe Vera, Japanese Knotweed, Baikal Skullcap, Green Tea, Licorice, Sage, Matricaria and Rosemary)
  • Ferulic Acid

Ruruberry also included Ferulic Acid in their formula to help boost the antioxidant effect of Vitamin C. Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is Vitamin C derivatives which is more stable to oxidization and less stinging.

About the Packaging

The Ruruberry serum comes in a dark bottle with a dropper. The opaque bottle prevents the content from oxidizing. But once you open the bottle, the content still can degrade from time to time. Therefore, be sure to use your Vitamin C serum within the PAO.

It is important to keep your Vitamin C carefully. Some people stored it in fridge to keep its freshness, some keep in dark box far from light source.

What Ruruberry Serum did to my skin?

I think I have tried 2-3 bottles of Vitamin C serum this year. All are pleasant! Interestingly, this serum is very unique in texture. The texture is yellowish in colour and smells like a combination of citrus and zinc. Serum drop looks thick and tacky. The tacky texture left skin feels very soft and silky once it is fully absorbed. No tackiness left behind.

I wasn’t expecting anything because I only used it 3x only within 2 weeks of trial period. Even though, I think this product is worth trying. I noticed it slightly lighten my acne scars and it also makes my skin looks brighter. I believe with prolong usage this serum can deliver better. It doesn’t sting on cheeks makes me feel safe using it for the first time. However, I experienced a very slight sting when applied on chin area (my skin is thinner there). However, it didn’t bother me much. The sensation fades away after 3 seconds.

It’s not easy to find a good vitamin C serum which is wallet-friendly. This one delivers well. It’s not only high in antioxidant, fights free radicals that causes skin aging, but also promotes collagen production. It’s very good!

Note: I have a sensitive, oily and dehydrated skin
